Have you had a Career Health Check recently?

well being advancement featured career guidance discovery Have you had a Career Health Check recently?Similar to a regular physical or dental check-up, it is good to do a Career check-up as well. Essentially this involves taking stock of various aspects of your career, identifying areas which are not ideal and taking steps to improve those areas.  Doing this on a regular basis, maybe every 6-12 months, can help you keep your career on the right track, ensure that your career is ‘healthy’ and keep you happy, satisfied and productive in the workplace.

As a quick check, as yourself the following questions:

  • Do you wake-up every morning excited to get to work
  • Do you enjoy your job, company, industry
  • Are you getting paid according to what you deserve
  • Are you satisfied with your career progress
  • Do you have a career plan for the next 1-2 years
  • How do you get along with your co-workers
  • Are you often thinking of or trying to change jobs
  • Are you performing well on the job

These are just a few questions that can help you realise whether your career is meeting your expectations, or if something is wrong. Depending on which areas need improvement, you can evaluate what actions to take accordingly.
