Students Career Choice

Students Chatting On Stairs

This is a programme to help students decide their education and career path. It is suitable for students in school or university.

The programme is designed to help students obtain a shortlist of ideal educational and career options based on a combined interpretation of their personality and main interests.

We use two psychometric inventories: the MBTI (Myer Briggs Type Inventory) and the Strong Interests Inventory - these are then combined to provide a college oriented report. The psychometric inventories help students identify careers that are firstly suited to their personality type, and secondly, in keeping with their core interests. These provide two separate and a combined perspective in career direction finding and identifying suitable study routes.

The psychometric inventories don't identify a career that a student 'must' pursue - rather, they provide a number of careers that people with the same personality type find to be satisfying, fulfilling and have success in. The Strong Interests Inventory does the same but from a core interests perspective. In this respect, they are therefore indicative. From there, there is an easier pathway to discovering the type of courses they should pursue that will support their career choice.

The main benefit of having the information these psychometric inventories produce is that the student can choose a career and a relevant study path that is in keeping with their personality type and core interests, leading to a good ‘fit’ between their work and self. The main reason why people change career during their mid-to-late thirties or early forties is that they feel their career has no meaning and that somehow something is missing in their work. This stems from a lack of ‘fit’ between their work and their personality type and core interests.

We use two psychometric inventories: the MBTI (Myer Briggs Type Inventory) and the Strong Interests Inventory - these are also Combined to provide a third psychometric report (click on the psychometric report name to see a sample).
